By chance I just uploaded another flying pig in connection with Media induced hysteria over the swine flu. I swear I didn't see this great cartoon in advance, not this discussion either.
This is a great idea you got; mine is more of the pig turned into a feathered vampire sort of.

It's not a "bad cartoon" in fact it's successful in that it's causing a lot of discussion and provoking thought, positive and negative on the part of most of us here. I think the artist is making a connection to nine eleven in that planes FLEW into NYC on that horrific day, just like the plane from MExico Flew into NYC with horrific results. Some might think its an exploitation of the 911 incident to show the pig in this context, but the artist is free to create what they feel gets their message across. Editorial cartooning expressing a point of view. It doesnt neccessarily have to be "right" or "accurate" it's just an impression.

your point is well taken. Im from NYC and a lot of issues that I wont name here are not being addressed in this city as the Swine Flu story has taken over. I dont even really think we are being told properly what precausions to take here. They tell us the schools that were affected and closed on one hand, and then tell us "not to worry" I work as a professional caricature party artist where i come in contact with a lot of kids... Im shuddering to think NOW of going to a party where some potentially infected kid will cough on me or touch me! NYC was dangerous enough already! LOL!
