Arsenal ripped apart in Dortmund
#231124 / vu 2609 foisJurgen Klopp finally recorded a victory over Arsene Wenger on home soil as he watched his side dismantle Arsenal 2-0 in their Champions League group stage encounter on Tuesday night.
The scoreline rather flattered the Gunners - BVB skipper Sebastian Kehl claimed afterwards that they could have scored four goals - with the Bundesliga outfit racking up an astonishing 23 shots on goal, the most any side managed as Europe's premier club competition returned.
Arsenal were on the backfoot from the first whistle to the last, with calamitous defending gifting a largely wasteful Dortmund plenty of opportunities.
The pace and directness of Ciro Immobile and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang caused the north Londoners serious problems, while Danny Welbeck's wayward finishing, Mesut Ozil's disappearing act and Lukas Podolski's lost shin pads all contributed to an awful night for Arsene Wenger.
